Starting in the kitchen:

Catching up and moving in

Over two months since the last update - crazy!  But between moving in, the old computer dying and losing everything on it, unpacking, etc. I haven't had a lot of blogging time. :)

So to catch up I'll just start where we left off and go from there.  And so... our first meal in the new home - sandwiches from Longhorn's eaten on our new island.

Still waiting on the front shutters but that's about it... soon be time for the walk through and now less than 20 days until closing. :)

Carpet and Cookin'

Hooray... the house no longer echoes like a cave because the concrete foundation is uncovered.  Fresh carpet:

And Erin's is just dying to break in these babies:

Since we got married over five years ago our microwave has been a Wal-mart special basic microwave we received as a wedding gift - it does the job, but this new one has all sorts of bells and whistles and options.

Erin is uber excited to fire up the new stove, especially the top with its variable size burner 

Climate Controlled Comfort

On a nice, sunny Florida afternoon when you come home...

and grab a cool drink from the kitchen (you know, once there is  a fridge)...

it is good to have one of these (though we won't keep it nearly so cool when we move in - but hey, we're not payin' for it yet):

Nobody's Home... but the lights are on

Working electricity and lights - thank you, Mr. Franklin and Mr. Edison.

(And yes, the front door is now painted the final shade of mossy green - we'll get a better shot on Saturday when the light is better.)
