Everything but the kitchen si... now, wait

No, we've got one of those, too, now.

We were able to get inside now that the linoleum is done :

And the lights and fixtures are now in, such as the can lights in the kitchen:

Front porch light:

And the hall lights and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors:

"Potty over here! Woop! Woop!"

The plumber came today and hooked up all the plumbing, including the toilets, sinks, showers, water heater, and sprinkler system control box:

Six weeks and counting

So we found out today our final closing date is six weeks away - hooray!

Sprinkler system was installed today:

And since the linoleum floors are going down in the kitchen, bathrooms, and entry way they have the doors locked so you can't walk on it while it settles - instead we take a bad picture through the kitchen sliding glass door...

Or through the empty deadbolt lock hole in the front door:

Don't Get Carrier-d Away

Gotta have one of these in La Florida...

And air vent covers...

And a garage door:

Yep, that's a garage door. :)

Poured and Stored

Today we got our driveway and sidewalks poured...

And the cabinets and countertops installed!  (Which we were not expecting until around Friday later in the week - quite a surprise to walk in and see them today.)  They also painted the interior with at least the base primer white - guess we'll find out tomorrow!

Looks even better in daylight

Generally we visit in the late afternoon after work when the sun is already low and behind the trees in the background so the house is always shaded.  Saturday afforded the chance to get a photo with morning light and direct sun on the front of the house and blue sky behind:

Taking Out the Trash

The dumpster is finally gone now that the drywall is finished!  And they have the driveway and sidewalk framed out, too. :)

I'm Stucco-n You

The stucco was added yesterday and the drywall work is either done or will be completed tomorrow (Thursday), to be followed on Friday by the interior trim work: baseboards, window sills, door frames, etc. :)

Next week will be interior and exterior paint, door fixtures, carpet, linoleum, and cabinets - and only six weeks to closing!

Mud, mud everywhere

And not a drop to drink?  Umm...

Waaallllllllll-eeeeeeees

Big transformations today - no more visible wood or insulation or exterior wrap:

All of the interior drywall is up and screwed down, ready to start mudding (including all cut outs for outlets, switches, lights, etc.)

And the wire mesh backing for the exterior stucco is up and will be covered in Portland cement (aka stucco) in the next few days.

We were so excited we decided to celebrate a little...  just kidding - someone dumped a Corona box in the dumpster in the front yard (hopefully not one of the people working in our house!).

Soffit to Me

Last of the insulation (for the garage - they missed it on Monday...) is in and the supplies for the drywall are in and ready to start being put to use tomorrow.

We also now have the soffits around the house, so the roof is pretty much entirely done now.
